What meals are provided at Gardens College?

A self-serve continental breakfast is available daily. Tea & coffee facilities for residents 24/7. 5 evening meals are provided Sunday - Thursday inclusive, ensuring a nutritional and balanced diet.

What will I need to bring with me?

All rooms are fully furnished rooms including bed, beside table, wardrobe/drawers unit, heating, basic linen, lamp, desk & chair, phone, TV and a mini fridge. You will need to bring towels and another blanket, and anything else you wish to personalise your room.

What support is available?

An onsite manager lives at Gardens College to help the residents create a safe, comfortable, clean and warm accommodation. They are available for any queries you may have or in case of an emergency.

Can I drink at Gardens College?

Gardens College is an alcohol and smoke-free environment. Residents are expected to maintain reasonable behaviour standards at all times.

Do I have to clean up after myself?

Simply yes. Residents should maintain their rooms to a satisfactory standard. A cleaning service ensures common area's are well maintained however students are expected to do their own dishes.

How long is the Lease Term?

The minimum lease term is 41 weeks.

How much will it cost to stay at Gardens College?

Our fees are comparable with other Residential Colleges in Dunedin. You may even find our costs are slightly cheaper while the quality stays the same. There are payment schemes available to suit most.

Can I access the Internet?

Yes. Either wireless of plug-in internet is available through an independent company. The cost is very reasonable. Details are available from Century 21.

What about my Washing?

Gardens College has a weekly laundry service that ensures fresh linen is available once a week. For your personal laundry there are three laundry facilities at your disposal.

Where is the phone?

Each room has a phone included. You can call your friends within the building and others who live in Dunedin. Your family and friends from out of Dunedin can call you in your room.

Where can I cook if I feel like it?

There are 3 kitchens throughout Gardens College available for the use of all residents. Evening meals can be collected from the main kitchen.

Where can I park my Car?

While there is normally sufficient parking near by on the street, there are car parks available on site for $10 per week. Spaces are limited so get in quick to secure yours.

Are there places to Relax and Hangout?

There is a recreation room with couches and Freeview TV available for all residents to relax and socialise. Each kitchen is equipped with a table and chairs for dining. Just up the street are the Dunedin famous Botanic Gardens - a great place to unwind any time of the year.
